On August 14 the East Hampton Arts & Culture Commission hosted a lecture titled Politics and the American Musical, a non-Partisan look at the influence of politics on the American Musical with Wade Russo – Assistant Musical Director of Goodspeed Musicals.. The talk reflected how Gilbert & Sullivan, Gershwin, Berlin, Cole Porter, Rodgers/Hart, Cohen and more, created very tuneful satires that were highly regarded by all Americans. A Broadway tune singalong followed on the library's baby grand.
