2021 Grant Recipients

East Hampton Arts & Culture Commission awarded a community grant to Epoch Arts Youth Organization in 2021 to support the group's Brookside Nights iniative for middle and high school youths. Events included a Halloween costume party in 2021 and a manga paint party and masked ball semi formal dance are planned in the near future. www.epochartsorg for information on this wonderful organization.

East Hampton Arts & Culture Commission awarded a community grant in 2021 to Mallory Kokus, a professional musician who teaches  "First Steps in Music,"  an early childhood music curriculum drawn from the aural folk music tradition and Western classical music. The goal of the class is to give children up to age 5 the skills to become tuneful, “beat-ful”, and artful. Upcomong classes will be held Friday evenings, April 29 through June 3 in the Creative Dance Center space at the Joseph N. Goff House, 2 Barton Hill Road. The East Hampton Arts & Culture Commission awarded a community grant to Christine Fielding and Carl Pastor to support a Young Adult Collaborative Art Installation on behalf of young adults at the East Hampton Middle School. Mr. Pastor and Ms. Fielding, teachers at the Middle School, will lead the group of young adults in this independent venture. 

To date, the students have completed one painting and are currently working on a second canvas. A total of four paintings are planned for the project by the end of the school year.
