Two $500 Grants Awarded!
Grant Recipients for 2018
Epoch Arts, a non profit, (501(c)3), arts for youth and community organization which offers programs designed to offer life-changing experiences that are relevant to the needs of all youth. Epoch will use the grant funds to support tuition scholarships for its students. Epoch offers over 25 scholarships annually to those in need. www.epocharts.org
Stacy Gibson, a teacher at Memorial School, will use the grant funds to create a recess cart to offer more dramatic play and creative options related to the arts for children outside the classroom during recess time at the school. The cart will be filled with such items as large building blocks, musical instruments, large Lincoln logs, a magnetic rolling dry erase board, and stepping stones of alphabet letters.

Shelley Collock: The Creative Dance Center
The Creative Dance Center of East Hampton, CT is proud to be celebrating their 35th anniversary this year. A tradition at the CDC, and one that many in the community are familiar with is the annual Christmas Ballet, Santa's Workshop. This is a show that families look forward to seeing every year and they deserve to see breathtaking costumes that go along with the cheerful holiday music. What makes this studio unique is, students are provided with all of the elaborate costumes at no cost. After 35 years, many of the costumes will be replaced or repaired and this grant will allow for that to happen. Every year, all proceeds from Santa's Workshop are donated to the East Hampton Food and Fuel Bank. This past year (2016), CDC raised $900 for the food bank. Beck White: Pippin the Musical
The goal of this project is to bring together the large theater community within East Hampton and involve those in town who haven't worked in theatre, and work together to create a fun and friendly show. The funding requirements lie in purchasing the rights and scripts to perform this show as a community. There will be open auditions and rehearsal during the fall and winter of 2017.
